Loneliness
Surrounded By People, Invisible to All of Them

Illustrative story. Names and details are changed. This is a composite written to reflect common experiences, not an account from a specific customer.
I have a lot of friends. A group chat that never sleeps. Colleagues who invite me to things. A social life that looks, from the outside, like I'm doing fine.
But for about two years, I felt like I was watching all of it from behind glass. Present in the room. Absent somewhere deeper. Like no conversation ever quite reached the part of me that needed to be reached.
I didn't feel I could say this to anyone in my life. How do you tell your friends that spending time with them doesn't fill the hole? It sounds like an accusation. So I didn't say it. I just felt it, alone, while pretending I didn't.
I found friendyouneed through a recommendation thread online. What I noticed immediately was that the platform explicitly states it doesn't store session content. No transcripts. No recordings. The only person who would ever know what I said was my listener and me. For something this private, that mattered enormously.
The session itself was — strange, in the best way. My listener just listened. Asked a question here and there. Didn't try to fix it or reframe it or tell me to "put myself out there more." Just stayed with me in it.
That single experience of being genuinely heard cracked something open. I started being more honest with one close friend. Then another. The conversations got deeper. The glass got thinner.
I still have sessions occasionally. Not because I'm in crisis — but because having a space where I'm fully heard remains one of the most valuable things in my life.
Something in this feels familiar?
A private voice conversation might help you go further. No camera, never recorded.
